Yesterday, Disney unveiled a new official synopsis for the highly-anticipated “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” film. However, the story didn’t offer much detail beyond what was already known – it will be set in a “1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world” with Marvel’s First Family already ‘turned’ into the F4. It continues: “Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer.

And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.” That last line, has now been expanded upon by scooper who has made the claim that the ‘personal’ part is that Galactus is targeting Franklin Richards – Reed and Sue’s child. The scooper adds: “He tells them to bring the boy to him or he’ll destroy the Earth.

” As fans have surmised, the film seems to be drawing inspiration from “Earth X,” a comic in which Shalla-Bal becomes Silver Surfer and which Franklin becomes the new Galactus. In the comics, Franklin is a massively powerful being with powers to rival the Celestials. Matt Shakman directs the film which stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/ Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Also starring are Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovic.
