A new trailer released for an upcoming film featuring Jack Black has elicited mixed responses, with some fans eagerly anticipating what they believe could be a 'new contender for the worst movie ever made'. The comedic actor, famed for his roles in School of Rock and the Jumanji reboot, is set to appear in a live-action adaptation of the globally popular video game Minecraft. Originally launched in early access in 2009 as Cave Game, Minecraft has since evolved into a worldwide sensation.

Developed by Mojang studios, this sandbox game offers players the freedom to explore and construct virtually anything they desire from basic blocks. A film adaptation is slated for release next year, and a newly released trailer provides the most comprehensive glimpse yet at the realised world, although not everyone is convinced. Tenacious D frontman Black will portray Steve, the player character from the game since its full release in 2011.

Joining him is Aquaman's Jason Momoa, one of four misfits who grapples with everyday problems until he is abruptly transported through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a strange, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To return home, they must master this world while fending off Piglins and Zombies and embark on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will compel all five to be brave and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative.

..the very skills they need to.
