One of the best-known beauty spots in Wales revealed its hidden dangers during this week's supermoon. Ynys Llanddwyn, a tidal island on Anglesey's southwest coast, offers captivating views and stunning sunsets but it can catch out the unwary. Tuesday night's supermoon, the second of four this year, left Ynys Llanddwyn cut off as high tides surged to their highest of the month so far.

One person, enjoying an evening on the island, suddenly found themselves marooned in darkness. Shortly before 9pm on Tuesday, September 17, Rhosneigr Coastguard Rescue Team were alerted to the visitor's distress call. When team members arrived on the scene, they located the castaway and communicated by shouting across the water.
