For four decades, Motcombs bar and bistro in Motcomb Street exuded old school glamour, welcoming everyone from A-list actors and politicians to football managers and sporting stars. It was founded in 1982 by restaurateur and raconteur Philip Lawless, who transformed a small cafe into one of London's buzziest bar-restaurants and became one of the capital's most famous hosts. Taking over the former site of Chucs Italian restaurant in Circus Road, Motcombs will celebrate the best of British, European, and Asian cuisine with a focus on seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients.
