Celebrity Race Across the World returns to our screens tonight (Wednesday, August 14), with a new batch of famous faces set to compete against each other. The beloved BBC One show, which launched its star-studded spin-off last year and saw weather presenter Alex Beresford and his father Noel take the crown, is back for another round. The programme challenges teams to race to a finish line thousands of miles away without air travel or modern-day conveniences.

The new 12,500km race will feature famous faces such as presenter Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy; actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen; broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy and Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiance), Sam. The duos will be tasked with navigating from the Amazon Rainforest to the Andes on a limited budget and only a map for guidance. But the celebrity duos are not the only famous names involved in the BBC series.

You may recognise the voice that narrates the show and he's a respected actor in both TV and film. Who is the Celebrity Race Across the World narrator? Scottish actor John Hannah has provided the narration for every series of Race Across the World including its celebrity spin-off editions. Many viewers will recognise John as the bumbling Jonathan Carnahan from The Mummy trilogy, Matthew from Four Weddings and a Funeral and Sliding Doors.

The 62-year-old was born in East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire and with a love for acting, he participated in the East Kilbri.
