In the world of Korean romcoms, Family By Choice emerged as a show that conveniently ditched K-dramas' favourite genre, and brought the dads, kids, and their mummy issues to the forefront. As the name suggests, it spoke about two families, and relatable household matters. Family By Choice is based on Chinese drama Go Ahead.

This 14-episode limited series kicked off on October 9, and took no time in climbing up the charts solely because of its storytelling, performances and onscreen chemistry between the three leads. Starring Hwang In-youp as Kim San-ha, Jung Chae-yeon as Yoon Ju-won and Bae Hyun-sung as Kang Hae-jun, the trio filled for every role from sibling rivalry, to friend-next-door lovers trope. Family By Choice's highs This Korean adaptation stood out for the sheer joy of watching these three actors navigate through childhood, teenage and adulthood making the characters their own.

With immensely heartwarming, heartbreaking and heart-to-heart moments, this show indeed is all hearts! Each kid had one common thread running between them - their mothers. While one grew up without a mom, another one was left behind her, and the third one's biggest trouble was his mom! They run after each other for breakfast, share their deepest secrets on rooftop, fight for each other in school, run under the rain, deliver love letters, sort problems together, laugh and shed the biggest tear too. It's their back for each other that made things relatable.
