When an 8-year-old boy cries and promises ‘I’m sorry mom I won’t smile. Please forgive me,” you know you're in for a spine-tingling emotional ride. Well that’s what Hwang In-youp, Jung Chae-yeon, and Bae Hyun-sung-starrer ‘Family By Choice’ is all about.

Based on the Chinese drama ‘Go Ahead’, the plot narrates the life of three individuals who aren’t related by blood but grow up considering each other as family together. What pushes their story into an infinity of emotional spiral down is their childhood traumas. Kim Sanha (Hwang In-youp) is struggling with the horrific memory of his sister’s death and the moment his mother walked away from his life.

Yoon Juwon (Jung Chae-yeon), misses her late mother as she yearns for a family of her own (on paper). Kang Haejun (Bae Hyun-sung), who has never known his biological father, was also abandoned by his biological mother. A post shared by Viki (@viki) The central trio, each dealing with problems of their own, navigate their teen and adult life until a love triangle shakes their world apart.

Family By Choice premiered its first two episodes on Thursday, October 9, and have amassed positive and wholesome reactions from fans and critics alike. We definitely have a who fell first situation. Hae Jun is definitely giving more annoying sibling vibes.

Where San Ha, well he is giving something else. 😏 I’m Team San Ha in this impending ❤️triangle situation. #FamilyByChoiceEp2 #FamilyByChoice pic.
