Kevin Magnussen has joked that he is ready to ‘f*** s*** up’ after returning from his race ban with a clean slate on his FIA super license. The Danish driver missed the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after crossing the 12-point threshold with an incident in Monza. Magnussen became the first driver in over a decade to be banned from a race with Oliver Bearman making his Haas debut in Azerbaijan ahead of his full-time debut with the team in 2025.

However, as per the FIA regulations, he returns to the grid with zero points on his license and just seven races remaining in his F1 career. Discussing the strange feeling of returning to race with no points to his name, Magnussen said: “You get punished and then you come back and you’re like ‘Oh, ready to f*** s*** up now..

.’ It’s funny how that works.” Now that he has served his ban, Magnussen hopes that the FIA will reassess the current penalty points system.

“Hopefully they will open up and realise that they need to trust the drivers,” he stated ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. “Of course there are things that you have to clamp down on. There are things like moving under braking and reacting to movement.

There are dangerous things that you should clamp down on. But apart from the little things, just let it go.” When Magnussen crossed the points threshold in Baku, many of his fellow drivers came out in support of the Haas racer.
