MUMBAI: In the run-up to the assembly elections , many city legislators held back-to-back meetings with municipal commissioner Bhushan Gagrani at the BMC headquarters on Monday afternoon. First to arrive was Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA for Worli Aaditya Thackeray who discussed issues like providing financial support to BEST , the need for road repairs before Ganpati festival , and scrapping of the contract to erect hoardings along the coastal road . Later, BJP MLAs Ashish Shelar, Mihir Kotecha and Manisha Choudhary held meetings with Gagrani.

Shelar said that apart from his Bandra West constituency-related issues, they also discussed the need for keeping the coastal road hoarding-free. "There is unnecessary fright being created in the minds of people that there will be hoardings along the coastal road. The commissioner has assured that it is only a proposal and sanctions are still awaited," Shelar said.
