"When you get back from your trip, it's a good idea to tidy up your digital space," he advised. "The fewer apps you have, the less likely a hacker is to steal your personal or payment information." Post-holiday, Crawford recommends a digital declutter, urging tourists to scrub any extraneous apps from their devices especially those used exclusively while traveling, such as local travel services or apps with location tracking capabilities.

These might seem trivial, but Crawford points out they're anything but. App tracking can result in companies leveraging or selling your data for tailored advertising. Additionally, dormant apps may still pose a security risk if they aren't properly defended against cyber threats.
