DAVE KEARNEY and wife Becca Mehigan are expecting their first child as their year of major life changes continues. The pair started a new journey in January by moving stateside as he joined The Chicago Hounds after spending his whole career at Leinster . And now it turns out that Becca is halfway through her pregnancy as they look forward to starting a family together.

Sharing a few photos that displayed her growing bump, she wrote: "Halfway to meeting our little Chicago Cub." Dave's rugby legend brother Rob was quick to react to the heartwarming Instagram post as he commented several love hearts. RTE showbiz star Doireann Garrihy also expressed her delight, adding: "The most gorgeous news.

So thrilled for you both xx." Doireann is of course engaged to Becca's cousin Mark Mehigan. Although Dave is based in the US these days, he did make headlines earlier this month for the latest Dublin-based business venture he, Rob and fellow Leinster greats Jamie Heaslip and Sean O'Brien have pursued.

The rugby quartet already owned several pubs around the capital including Lemon & Duke and The Bridge 1859 in conjunction with well-known publican Noel Anderson. But they've added McSorley's of Ranelagh to their portfolio. It is believed they shelled out in the region of €5.

5 million to add McSorley's to their stable. Anderson spoke on behalf of the group, entitled Grand Slam Bars, upon the completion of their latest acquisition. He assured regular customers of the D6 boozer that they would.
