Manjot Singh is currently basking in the praises he has been receiving for his role in the recently released Netflix movie Wild Wild Punjab . The actor exclusively told Bollywood Hungama earlier that he is happy to have gotten a break from his usual comic characters and getting a chance to play an ‘alpha male’ for the first time. EXCLUSIVE: Manjot Singh was approached for Fighter; the actor reveals why things couldn’t go further In the same conversation, Manjot also revealed that he was also approached for the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter , but things couldn’t go further.

When asked the character he was offered, he said, “I honestly have no idea about this. I just got a call from a casting person. But I wasn’t free at that time at I was shooting a project.

So, I couldn’t do ( Fighter ). That was the reason.” Manjot has no regrets though.

“But, as we all know, whatever happens, happens for the good,” he said. Going by that proverb, the actor is touched that his mother is also happy to see a different side of him in Wild Wild Punjab . “She always wanted to see how I perform in serious roles,” said Manjot.

“After watching this film, she got emotional because she was waiting to see that, apart from comedy, how would I deal with other emotions. So, I am very happy that along with comedy, I got to portray various other emotions. My character is serious and emotional.

I also got to do some action and I also had a little lovey dovey mo.
