Police and specialist rescue teams are continuing to search for a missing teenager in a lake on the outskirts of Cambridge today, Tuesday, August 13. Emergency services were called to the Burnside Lakes in Cherry Hinton just before 5.30pm on Monday, August, 12.

A boy, whose identity has not been released to the public, had got into difficulty in the water. Police said he is 16-years-old and is from Essex. He had been swimming in the lake with friends when he got into difficulty and the ambulance service was called.

said his family were aware of the situation. A police spokesperson said: "Search teams remain to find the boy and we ask that members of the public stay away from the area while this work is carried out."
