Amid fresh allegations against Mohamed Al Fayed, questions have also arisen concerning his alleged 'STI examiner' Dr Ann Coxon. Women who claim to have been raped or sexually assaulted by the late Egyptian businessman have also alleged that Dr Coxon carried out STD examinations on Harrods staff - under the orders of billionaire Al Fayed, who died in August 2023 at the age of 94. Speaking at a press conference, barrister Maria Mulla stated that women identified by Fayed would be 'sent for a private medical investigation' at the luxury department store.

Although they arrived expecting a routine medical check, Ms Mulla says the women were allegedly subjected to a 'full internal screening', including cervical smear tests and comprehensive sexual health checks. Making her first appearance since the accusations concerning Al Fayed emerged, Dr Coxon replied 'No I did not' when asked whether she performed these invasive tests on Harrods employees. Dr Coxon, a Muslim convert who also goes by the name Amina, made this remark while walking from her Notting Hill home to her car.

When asked whether she regrets working for Al-Fayed, Dr Coxon said: “No”. She was then asked if she would like to apologise to the victims who have come forward, to which she replied: "I have no comment to make." The doctor, who also worked as the private physician of disgraced publicist Max Clifford, still has a licence to practice medicine and operates out of a clinic on London's prestigious Harley Street, .
