Waterloo Road is back for series 14 on the BBC, with there being several new additions to the cast, including comedian Jason Manford. He will play the new headteacher Steve Savage whilst Saira Choudhry will also join as the school's newest maths teacher Nisha Chandra. Alongside them, a handful of new students will be added to the cast including Olly Rhodes as Steve's son Billy Savage and Nathan Wood as Boz Osbourne.

Last time out series 13 ended with Kim Campbell (Angela Griffin) getting engaged to longtime love Andrew Treneman (Jamie Glover). He is currently being treated for cancer and is set to step aside to give Kim a job as the CEO of the academy trust, the Radio Times reports . They added: "Elsewhere, there was drama for a new couple as caretaker Donte Charles (Adam Thomas) and dinner lady Nicky Walters (Kym Marsh) made some big decisions about the future.

"Finally, history teacher Neil Guthrie (Neil Fitzmaurice) saw the true colours of his villainous daughter Libby (Hattie Dynevor)." An official synopsis for series 14 on the BBC website reads: "With its new academy status, new school building, and the arrival of Steve Savage, who becomes the new headteacher, Waterloo Road sees a changing of the guard. "Alongside the expected teething problems, the students and teachers of Waterloo Road attempt to find their feet and make big decisions that affect their future at the school.
