The show from creator Marc Cherry debuted on October 3, 2004, starring Longoria as Gabrielle Solis in her breakthrough role, alongside Felicity Huffman (Lynette Scavo), Teri Hatcher (Susan Mayer), Marcia Cross (Bree Van De Kamp) and Brenda Strong (Mary Alice Young). Desperate Housewives was an immediate hit, running for eight seasons over 180 episodes between 2004 and 2012. Longoria, 49, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a slew of snaps from the show and share her thanks for what the show meant to her career .
