Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday asked the newly appointed Vice Chancellors (VCs) of all Universities in the State to enhance the reliability of universities, which are losing their reputation for some time now. He gave these instructions when the VCs along with Telangana State Higher Education Council Chairman Professor Balakrishna Reddy met him here. Giving instructions to Vice Chancellors in the meeting, he asked them to work hard to instill trust in universities.
“The universities have been losing their reputation for some time now. Need to enhance the reliability of universities,” he said, asking them to conduct a comprehensive study on the present condition of the universities and take action accordingly as systems were collapsed in universities. “Hire consultancies, if required, and prepare a report on the functioning of universities.
New VCs have been appointed without any influence. The VCs were selected purely on the basis of merit and social equations,” he said, advising them to strive hard and bring laurels to the State government. Revanth Reddy made it clear that the State government would not hesitate to take stringent action if anything goes wrong.
“The VCs have been given liberty to perform and do good work and the government will always support those who do excellent jobs,” he said. Stating that the universities should be revamped 100 percent, he said the students used to remember VCs for years in the past and the situation was now not t.
