Monday, January 27, 2025 An innovative on-demand travel service is set to debut on Monday at England’s iconic Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Shropshire. This cutting-edge service, operated via a user-friendly app, provides tailored travel recommendations for both residents and tourists. The app offers guidance on the most suitable travel options, including whether to opt for the on-demand shuttle bus or existing public bus services.

In addition to traditional bus stops, the app introduces virtual stops that cover a broader area. These stops are dynamically generated and shared with users based on their real-time location, enhancing accessibility and convenience, as stated by Telford and Wrekin Council. The council further noted that, if this pilot program proves successful, the initiative could be expanded to benefit other areas in the region, paving the way for smarter, app-driven travel solutions.

The service will initially run Monday through Friday, operating between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM GMT. However, these hours are expected to be reviewed and potentially adjusted as the busier summer season approaches. The app is already available for download on both the App Store and Google Play, allowing users to start exploring its features immediately.
