Vadodara: The encroachment removal teams of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation ( VMC ) on Tuesday started razing illegal constructions along the Masiya stormwater drain in the Makarpura GIDC area. The civic body has started identifying and razing encroachments along the Vishwamitri River and major stormwater drains in the city. Earlier, VMC had removed 13 such structures along the river.
While one of these had to be razed, others were removed by those who had erected them. VMC officials had identified 17 encroachments very close to the Masiya stormwater drain. Officials said that five of these were removed by late in the evening.
