Emmerdale has been a tense place for Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas since the couple ended their marriage last month. But the atmosphere continues to heat up in next week's episodes of the ITV soap as the pair are at loggerheads again, and Jai drops a bombshell. As fans of the long-running show will know, Laurel (played by Charlotte Bellamy) called time on her relationship with Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) after his constant lies.

When one argument spiralled, Jai crossed the line insulting her late husband Ashley, only moments later Laurel had a heart attack. When she regained consciousness Laurel told Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) of Jai's ruthless plan to take his shares of The HOP. Laurel also told Jai their marriage was over and ever since, the pair has continued to clash while working at The Hide as they start living seperate lives.

But as Jai makes Laurel's job a misery, he's in for a shock. In next week's episodes, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) is left excited when her step-mum Laurel poses the idea of buying Jai’s shares in The Hide. It's not long before Gabby informs Jai that his soon-to-be ex-wife is the new investor in the bistro leaving him furious.

Later in the week, the former couple are in mediation when Jai drops a bombshell. Laurel is horrified when Jai lies and tells the mediator he has sold both Holdgate and Tenants to pay off some debts, leaving him with nothing to give Laurel in the divorce. Later, Jai doubts he’s doing the right thing as Caleb Mill.
