Emmerdale viewers witnessed heart-wrenching scenes on Wednesday (October 30) as Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) grappled with bidding farewell to his beloved wife Moira (Natalie J Robb). Cain was taken aback when Moira revealed she was departing the village with her son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) to visit her other son Adam (Adam Thomas), following her diagnosis with a brain tumour that's causing severe symptoms including seizures, confusion, and memory loss. Moira mistakenly believed she had already informed Cain of her plans.

In an attempt to reassure her husband, Moira explained that Matty would care for her and manage her medication, and that she needed to see Adam before undergoing brain surgery scheduled for the end of next month. The prospect of a potentially permanent goodbye if Moira's surgery doesn't go as planned filled Cain with dread. Later, he offered his support, suggesting she take all the time she needed, and the couple shared a tender hug.

As they parted ways, Moira promised to call Cain daily, and he jokingly insisted she'd "better have". After a prolonged hug and several kisses, Moira and Cain made their way to the door, with Cain set to bid her farewell alongside the boys, reports Leeds Live . However, Emmerdale fans are now worried that Moira's condition might take a turn for the worse, leading to her off-screen demise.

One fan expressed their concern on X, writing: "What is this goodbye? They better NOT kill Moira off-screen." A second viewer tweeted: "#.
