This year, the focus is on how the tourism sector can be a powerful force for positive change in an interconnected and interdependent world. Tourism, an industry built by people for people, continues to be a driving force in breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes.

By promoting cross-cultural communication, tourism encourages encounters with diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, fostering greater tolerance and understanding. Beyond its economic impact, tourism also offers enriching educational and spiritual experiences for travelers. This year, World Tourism Day in New Caledonia was marked by a special visit from Adela Issachar Arru, Chairperson, and Chris Cocker, Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), as part of their working mission to Nouméa.
