Multi-billionaire Elon Musk, who owns the X, formerly Twitter, has amplified a Birmingham pub attack video to his millions of followers and made insinuations about a 'two-tier' response by police in the city. He reacted to a video showing a group of young, mostly Asian, men, many dressed in black and wearing masks, in a violent fracas at The Clumsy Swan pub in Stoney Lane, Yardley . There had earlier been a largely peaceful gathering in nearby Bordesley Green , where hundreds had turned out amid fears of a Far Right rally in the neighbourhood.

Posting on his platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, Musk stated in a retweet of a video of the incident: "Why aren’t all communities protected in Britain?" He tagged in the UK's Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, in his Tweet, which was followed with a second message carrying the hashtag #TwoTierKeir. The incident was the worst of five known to have occurred in the aftermath as crowds dispersed from a 300-strong gathering around McDonald's in Bordesley Green in what was billed as a show of strength amid reports that a group of far-right activists were heading to the area.
