The wife of infamous Mexican drug lord Joaquin ' El Chapo ' Guzman is starring in the music video for a song based on her life - which is being performed by her husband's lawyer. Former beauty queen Emma Coronel, 35, was released from prison in the US in September last year. She had been sentenced to three years after she pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in November 2021, but her sentence was later reduced.

Yesterday (Monday, August 5) a teaser for the song titled La Señora was shared on Instagram . The tune comes from lawyer Mariel Colon, 31, who represents both Coronel and El Chapo. Colon is said to be close friends with Coronel, and has in recent months announced a dramatic career change as she moved into the music industry.

Coronel was recently interviewed on Univision, an American Spanish-language TV network, and opened up about how her involvement with the song came about. She said: "I heard it when they were writing it, the whole song, every part it says, is important to me. It talks about me and everything that has happened in my life.

" She added: "I have always had the dream of being a model, when I was little I always said I was going to be a model, so when they told me I was going to be a model in a video, of course I did, I liked it." The full music video is set to be released on Friday (August 9). Coronel reportedly met El Chapo while competing in the Coffee and Guava Festival beauty pageant in Durango, Mexico, back in 2007.
