Heather battled Freddy Krueger as the teenage protagonist, which earned her a dedicated fanbase in the horror genre. She reprised her role in several sequels, including A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and Wes Craven's New Nightmare in 1994. Beyond the franchise, Heather has enjoyed a career on both the big and small screens.
She appeared in the 2012 horror film The Butterfly Room as well as the sci-fi blockbuster, Star Trek Into Darkness in 2013. She also made guest appearances in TV series such as American Horror Story: Freak Show. Outside of acting, she has also made contributions behind the scenes as a special effects makeup artist.
Alongside her husband, David LeRoy Anderson, she co-owns AFX Studio, a special effects makeup company.
