The eight finalists of the BCF 2024 beauty pageant gather for a group photo. SIBU (Aug 6): Eight young women have made the cut for this year’s Miss Dayak Borneo Cultural Festival 2024, to be staged on Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 1 here this Aug 15. The pageant is run in conjunction with the 10-day Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF), which kicks off this Thursday (Aug 8).
Angelina Rani Gawan, Slyviana Rinya Galing, Hermina Anthony, Felisia Jeffery, Natasha Malviana Nyandang, Kartina Bagan, Arabella Sunta Langkan and Clarissa Rinya Setian were selected among 16 hopefuls who underwent the preliminary segment of the pageant that took place at Sibu Public Library, Jalan Keranji here last Sunday. The judging panel comprised Councillor Augustine Merikan, Dato Alice Jawan and Adina Sana. The winner of Miss Dayak Borneo Cultural Festival 2024 will take home RM5,000 along with the crown, trophy and sash, a hamper and a bouquet.
The first runner-up will receive RM3,000, trophy, sash and hamper, while the second runner-up will be given RM2,000 along with trophy, sash and hamper. The other five finalists will each get RM800 as consolation. The pageant is organised by Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Sibu Branch, in collaboration with Sibu Municipal Council (SMC).
