Jammu, Jan 23: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Chowdhary, today assured that both the Jammu & Kashmir and the Central government are making serious efforts to uncover the cause of the mysterious deaths in Rajouri. 17 people have died so far in the Badhaal village in Rajouri district of J&K, but the exact cause of their deaths remains unclear. Chowdhary expressed his deep concern over the tragic deaths, describing the situation as a “bad luck” for J&K, Rajouri, and the entire country.
“We are unable to save ourselves,” he told reporters in Jammu as per news agency KINS, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. He acknowledged the fears and concerns of the local residents, stating, “People are in a state of fear. I understand their worries, but I appeal to the public that there is no need to be afraid.
The government is doing its best to identify the cause. We are working hard to determine where this is coming from.” While reiterating that no virus or infection has been detected, Chowdhary confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
“Once we pinpoint the cause, we will be able to completely address it,” he assured. Chowdhary also highlighted the government’s proactive response, noting that the Chief Minister personally visited the area, the Home Ministry sent the team and the district commissioner has been stationed in Rajouri to manage the crisis. “Different doctors from Delhi are assisting us, and we are leaving no stone unturned to stop these deaths,”.
