Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested no fewer than 22 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo”, in Benin City, Edo State. The suspects were arrested at different locations during separate operations conducted by the operatives on August 20. A statement on Wednesday by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, noted that the suspects were arrested following intelligence received on their activities.

He added that 10 expensive cars, laptops and phones among others were recovered from them. Items recovered from them include 10 exotic cars, laptops and phones.” Oyewale said the suspects would be charged after the completion of their investigation. He said, “The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
