Edyth F. Glickstein OBITUARY Edyth F. Glickstein, 76, passed away at Country Meadows Retirement Community on August 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Neil E. Glickstein with whom she celebrated 56 beautiful years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Eydie was the daughter of the late Maurice, a Holocaust survivor, and Miriam (Krauss) Marin.

Eydie graduated from Brooklyn College in 1967 and earned two master degrees in education, one from Brooklyn College in 1971 and one from Lehigh University in 1983. Eydie was a Reading Consultant in school districts in New York City and Allentown for over 30 years, with the last two decades at Union Terrace Elementary School. Eydie was known for creating numerous innovative reading programs for which she was distinguished as the Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year in 1992, an honor bestowed upon her by Governor Bob Casey Jr.

Eydie was a member of Temple Beth El of Allentown for 48 years and also taught Hebrew School there for 15 years. In her retirement, Eydie spent half the year at her home in Sarasota, FL where she enjoyed many activities including golf, mahjong, cannasta and the theater and the other half of the year in Allentown where she enjoyed her book clubs and spending time with her many close friends. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family and traveling the world with her husband.

In addition to her loving husband, Neil, Eydie is survived by son Lawrence Glickstein and wife Stacey of Scotch .
