Edith Marie Gainor, born on April 16, 1941, in Stoney Bottom, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on Nov. 14, 2024, at her home. She was a devoted and generous individual, whose strong will and warm-hearted nature made her the rock of her family and endeared her to all who knew her.

Edith held an associate’s degree in accounting and dedicated her career to secretarial work for the government and U.S. Army before serving as an accountant at Dal Tile in Lewisport and at Kaminski Electric in Owensboro.

Outside of her professional life, Edith was passionate about cooking, with a particular fondness for baking bread and rolls, as well as canning fruits and vegetables and making jelly. An ardent lover of animals, she had a special place in her heart for pugs, bringing warmth and happiness into her home. Her generous spirit and old-fashioned values reflected in every aspect of her life.

Edith was known for her strong faith and love for God, which guided her through life's challenges and shaped her character. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Archibald J. Dilley and Lurlie Mae Curry, and siblings, Jonas, Jay, Sherman, Lenore, and Audrey.
