Wednesday, October 2, 2024 Edinburgh Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, has unveiled a £5.8 million initiative aimed at revamping its check-in hall. This upgrade will create additional space for travelers and incorporate advanced self-service technologies and digital navigation tools.

The investment will focus on redesigning zones A and D to enhance the passenger experience, with construction beginning on October 1. Zone A, currently serving Ryanair, will receive a complete makeover, featuring digital navigation systems, video walls, and new self-service kiosks. Meanwhile, zone D, which accommodates Jet2.

com and other airlines, will also get digital navigation tools and an open collector system. Additionally, the check-in desk layout will be reorganized to improve traffic flow, and both areas will be refreshed with an open-ceiling design to create a more spacious atmosphere. The renovation will expand zone A by 70%, and Edinburgh Airport will leverage VINCI Airports’ global expertise, spanning over 70 locations, to deliver the best results for its passengers.

Construction is scheduled to continue throughout the winter, with completion anticipated by spring 2025, just ahead of the summer rush. Temporary navigation systems will be in place during this period.
