He previously tried to scam Sharon Watts ( Letitia Dean ) over an unpaid tax bill as he needed money to keep up the care for his former partner. Reiss decided to make matters into his own hands as he snuck into the care centre and broke down in tears whilst taking her life. This comes as Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) decided to sell the long-time Branning family home to help pay for their future.
Earlier in the episode, she had visited Debbie on her own, and attempted to make her more comfortable by adjusting the pillow. In a suspicious move, she also didn't officially sign into the nursing home as a visitor, as there was no one on the desk when she arrived. The moment means many viewers think that Sonia will get the blame for her death when the police start to look at who had visited Debbie.
