EastEnders viewers think the police have missed some crucial evidence that would rule out Sonia Fowler as Debbie Colwell's killer. The BBC soap aired a twist this week as Sonia was charged with the murder, while Debbie's real killer Reiss Colwell was released. Sonia and Reiss had been arrested for his wife's death, before both were questioned.

The officers claimed to have physical evidence that Debbie's death at the care home was foul play. But while her husband Reiss was let go after lying about his whereabouts, Sonia was charged for the murder. Debbie was being cared for after a stroke a few years ago, and Reiss' spiralling debts meant he couldn't afford the care home fees.

After scams here and there, Reiss ended up seemingly killing Debbie after sneaking in and out of the care home without being seen. Sonia had visited her earlier in the day with it seeming she forgot to sign the register, which would confirm what time she arrived and left. This and a lack of an alibi, as well as an apparent motive, left officers convinced Sonia caused Debbie's death.

But viewers were quick to call this out, suggesting some missing evidence would prove that Reiss was there after all, and that Sonia did not harm Debbie. While it's not known for sure if the care home would have had CCTV cameras anywhere in or outside of the building, fans were convinced the home would have had some form of security or surveillance.
