The Philadelphia Eagles made a roster decision on Tuesday and released linebacker Devin White. We have released LB Devin White. pic.

twitter.com/Ya9dCeVDEs It's not too surprising since White had not played a snap all season and had been inactive for every game so far this season. This comes after White received a random drug test request following the Eagles Week 4 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- a game he was not even at.

While White wasn't at the game, he was active on Twitter and even reposted Lavonte Davis's strip-sack on quarterback Jalen Hurts but took that down too after taking heat from fans. He responded to fans calling David his "brother" and claimed he only meant to "favorite" the video and not re-post it. White, 26, was initially a fifth overall NFL draft pick out of LSU by the Buccaneers in 2019 which is where he had been before he entered free agency this past offseason.

Over five years with Tampa, White appeared in 76 games, logging 364 tackles, 23 sacks, six forced fumbles, and three interceptions. The Eagles signed White to a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million back in March.

He was projected to be a starter for the Birds this season but ultimately lost out to Nakobe Dean during training camp. The team now has an open roster spot with White gone. This article first appeared on A to Z Sports and was syndicated with permission.
