A man was arrested after police say he tested positive for cocaine and was found with a “large quantity” of suspected Class A drugs. Officers say they stopped the 37-year-old man while on patrol in Farnworth this week. After stopping the man at the roadside, they say they then searched a house in Little Hulton where they found more suspected drugs and an “extendable baton.

” A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Sergeant Jeppesen and Sergeant Prudence of the South Neighbourhood Team have sighted a vehicle whilst on patrol in Farnworth believed to be involved in drug supply. “The vehicle was stopped a short while later and a large quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs found as a result of a search under S23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The car has now been seized (Image: GMP) “The male driver, aged 37, also tested positive on a roadside drugs test for cocaine.

“The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, and driving whilst under the influence of drugs. “The insurance on the vehicle is believed to have been falsified, and the vehicle has been seized to Operation Wolverine. “A S18(1) house search under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act was then conducted at an address in Little Hulton.
