Lorraine: Two new Strictly stars announced Strictly Come Dancing will return to the BBC later this year and while fans are eager to know the full celebrity line-up, Dr Hilary Jones has said he will not be on the list. Announcements on this year's competitors kicked off earlier this week, with comedian Chris McCausland and JLS’s JB Gill among those confirmed. However, Lorraine regular Jones shut down speculation of him taking to the dance floor, despite starring on Dancing on Ice in 2010.

The 71-year-old told Express.co.uk: “I enjoyed wearing the sequins and learning how to skate but I wasn’t very good.

“I got to six weeks, which I was pleased to do because I couldn’t even stand on ice to begin with, and I actually managed to complete dances to music. ” Although Jones said he won't be starring in the BBC competition later this year, 12 stars have been confirmed. They include Olympic swimmer Tom Dean, Go.Compare advert star Wynne Evans, actress Toyah Willcox, TV doctor Punam Krishan, reality stars Tasha Ghouri and Pete Wicks.
