Dr. Flamen “David” Ball Sep. 19, 2024 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Flamen “David” Ball VI, age 84, of Denton, Texas.

He died after a short battle with brain cancer on September 19, 2024, peacefully with his wife by his side. David will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 58 years, Margie; children, Michael (Amy) Ball, Matthew (Leslie) Ball, and Marissa (Mark) Glasschroeder; grandchildren, Colton (Stormie) Glasschroeder, Lilly Glasschroeder, Trinity Ball, Tristan Ball, Carter Ball, Rylie Glasschroeder, Callie Ball; great-grandchildren, Tinslee Glasschroeder and Cohen Ball. David was predeceased by his parents, Flamen and Elfrieda Ball; sister, Virginia Ball Bauer; and his adored poodle, Benji.

Flamen Ball VI, affectionately known as “David”, was born April 15, 1940 in Yonkers, New York. His childhood homes were in Mt. Vernon, NY, Scarsdale, NY, Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL.

At age 14, his father’s New York Life employment transferred them across the country to Los Altos, California. David was the only son of Flamen Ball V “Bill” and Elfrieda Boy Ball, and had one younger sister, “Ginny”. From childhood forward, David had a love of all things related to the outdoors.

His father’s passion was to explore America’s beautiful sites and he inherited this love from him. After graduating from Los Altos High School in 1958, David attended Pomona College in Claremont, California where he graduated in 1962. O.
