BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown celebrated a strong home win and a huge milestone for team powerhouse Payton Parliament in the team’s 4-0 win over NCCS Thursday. Parliament scored three goals on the night, securing her 200th point of her high school career with the final goal of the game. She joins teammate Grace McCasland as the two most recent Eagles to reach the point total.
Parliament scored the opening goal and game winner almost sixteen minutes into the first half, with Jillian Hagadorn recording the assist. McCasland found the back of the net nearly 10 minutes later off of an assist from Paige Ebere, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead heading into the half. In the second half, Parliament found her 199th and 200th point with a pair of goals at 3:50 and 8:10.
McCasland set her up with the assist on the first goal, and on her final point of the night Ashley Barnes picked up an assist. Beekmantown put 16 shots on the board in the match. The Cougars were unable to respond, with the team’s two shots being saved by Eagle goalie Meegan Burdo.
In goal for the Cougars was Peyton Scott, who recorded 12 saves in the loss. — CLINTONVILLE — The Saranac Spartans stormed the AuSable Valley Patriots home field and came away with a dominant 6-1 win Thursday. The Spartan’s Kaitlynn Rabideau controlled the first half, scoring both of Saranac’s goals and the game winner.
Her first goal came unassisted at 9:48 minutes into the game, and her game winner came eight minutes later off an assi.
