FARGO — As children head back to school, Sanford Health has some tips to keep your child healthy. Dr. Autumn Nelson, a pediatric family nurse practitioner at Sanford Health, says it's important to have good hand hygiene.

That means reminding your kids to wash their hands before school, whenever they eat and after school. Dr. Nelson says it's the simplest way to prevent common illnesses from spreading this fall.

"Back to school, we will see an increase in upper respiratory infections. So its really important if your kid has a fever or feeling ill to keep them home, wash their hands, and if they are sneezing and coughing, to cover your mouth." Dr.
