Well-known Australian music producer DJ Tigerlily has cancelled her upcoming shows with “regret” after she was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery. The 32-year-old, real name Dara Hayes, took to social media on Wednesday telling her 572,000 fans she had to have her appendix out in an experience she described as a “wild ride”. “One minute you’re painting with your son at playgroup and the next you’re being sent to ED for emergency surgery to take out your appendix,” she wrote on Instagram.

“The last few days have been a wild ride...

there have been tears, some new scars, and a rollercoaster of emotions.” The medical emergency meant the Sydney star was forced to postpone her shows at Deck Bendigo and Billboard Melbourne as she begins her road to recovery. “I truly don’t take cancellations lightly, especially knowing how much effort goes into planning these events,” she wrote.

“I hate to disappoint my fans, and it’s important to me that I deliver the best performance possible when I am well again. “Rest assured, I’ll be back doing what I love most very soon, and I can’t wait to share those moments with you all. “Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

” DJ Tigerlily went on to thank her mother, husband, friends and hospital staff for all their care and support during the ordeal. “I am so grateful to live in Sydney, so close to such an amazing hospital like Royal North Shore..
