DJ and record producer Steve Aoki penned a "difficult" tribute to his "dear friend" Liam Payne. The singer died at the age of 31 yesterday after falling from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Tributes have been flooding in for the former One Direction star following the shock news.

Steve posted a series of photos of himself with Liam of them on stage together as well as at embracing each other at a home. Alongside the photos, Steve wrote: "I’ll miss u dear friend. It’s so difficult to write this out.

Doesn’t make sense, I can’t believe you’re gone brother. We had so many amazing memories together on and off the stage. A true legend and a kinder soul with a heart of gold.

Miss u my brother." One Direction also released a heartbreaking statement following the tragic death of Liam. His bandmates have said they are "completely devastated" by the news of his death, adding: "The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever.

" In a statement signed "Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry", Liam Payne's One Direction bandmates said: "We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing. "In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.

The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly.
