Fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians have been given a tantalising glimpse of the upcoming second season, despite it only going into production a week ago. A teaser was unveiled at D3 - Disney's official fan event - over the weekend. The video has since been shared on YouTube for fans to enjoy.

The clip primarily revisits the events of season one, but offers a sneak peek of season two featuring Walker Scobell as Percy in a blue chariot, led by two white racing horses. Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan and actors Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri were present at the Anaheim event. The first season, which premiered in December, was met with critical praise and scored an impressive 91 percent from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The release date for season two is yet to be announced. The new season will follow The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Rick Riordan's best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood a year later to find his world turned upside down, reports the Manchester Evening News .

His relationship with Annabeth is evolving, he discovers he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has disappeared, and the camp is under attack from the forces of Kronos. Percy's quest to set things right will take him off the map and into the perilous Sea of Monsters, where a secret destiny awaits the son of Poseidon. Confirmation came in February that Percy Jackson would make a comeback for another chapter.
