THE disgusting real reason why the I’m a Celebrity stars have to wear red socks in the jungle has been revealed. Series 24 of the ITV show returned to our screens last week. I'm A Celeb fans have enjoyed BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough fail to get many stars for camp, reverend Richard Coles and Maura Higgins lie to their campmates and many of the stars get emotional.

As always, the famous faces have been given red shorts/trousers, blue t-shirts with their names printed on the back and khaki shirts. The celebrities have also been given red socks and hiking boots to wear. The show's ex-medic Bob McCarron told Women's Own last year that the reason why they wear red socks is to hide any blood that may have been caused by pesky insects.

He told the publication that they are: "bitten by all kinds of critters during their time in the jungle, including leeches." Bob joined the show back in 2002 when it first hit our screens and assisted any celebrities in need of medical help. But after 20 years on the ITV show, he left after the 22nd series in 2022.

The Australian medic, known as medic Bob, still appears on the German version of the programme. Last night Dean was blasted by fans as he made a 'cheeky' request to Danny Jones. Dean, Maura and Richard finally made it to camp after they had successfully won their secret mission.

But as they all returned to camp, talk shifted to the sleeping arrangements for their new additions. McFly's Danny Jones immediately moved into a bed, giving up.
