A quaint Dartmoor pub has found new life after dedicated owner Karen Bennett took on the challenge to rejuvenate the historic venue. Nestled within the moors, the vintage coaching inn can trace its roots back to the 19th century. The revival of the East Dart Inn at Postbridge is credited to Karen Bennett's passion for the establishment.

The 64-year-old felt drawn to the inn, relocating from the southeast to take it on. With a familial connection tying her to Devon, Karen describes her move to Dartmoor as akin to "coming home". In 2022, she took over the reins of the East Dart Inn, dedicating months to renovate it; this labor of love was supported by a local team who are now staff at the pub.

We found lots of interesting bits when working on the building, there were some old newspapers dating back to the 1920s." "I've basically changed it back to a modern coaching inn, we have eight rooms for people to stay in.

I renovated the building myself, with the help of the pub team." Visitors have a mix of rooms to choose from, all designed with a contemporary chic touch yet preserving the inns traditional charm. Among these, a bunk room houses eight beds perfect for ramblers, and there's a specially designed family room.
