The highly anticipated film Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, released in theatres on September 27. It has Jr NTR and Jahnvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The film has faced significant backlash after its release.

Reports indicate that Devara would be the second highest-grossing Indian film after Kalki 2898 AD. Kalki 2898 AD made Rs 191.5 crore worldwide on its opening day, while Devara crossed Rs 140 crore worldwide on its opening day.

Despite the earnings, the film has not received good reviews. Koratala Siva clearly has ambitions for an epic-scale narrative, but many critics cited that the film’s writing does not match what he is aiming for in the movie and it fails on multiple levels. Although two important episodes from the second part of the movie, that is Devara 2 have already been shot, now the question arises, whether the movie will be released or not.

Koratala Siva, regarding the shooting of the second part of the movie, claimed in an interview that the shoot for the second part depends on Jr NTR’s availability. “I shot 25 minutes of footage for Devara part 2, I can finish off Devara part 2 in 6-8 months,” said Koratala Siva. Talking about making Devara in two parts, Kortala Siva added that although they started the film as one part, the entire crew, after the second schedule, thought not to tell the whole story of Devara in one part.

He further added that, “When I narrated the story to Jr NTR, it was a 4 hours-long story and when I penned it became 7 hours. .
