Twelve Fijian designers are set to present their collections in Sydney, Australia, this Saturday at a landmark event organised by Fiji Fashion Week (FJFW). The event at the Paddington RSL Auditorium will offer a unique platform for Fijian fashion to reach a wider audience in Australia. A FJFW statement said the event would feature notable designers Tracey Ann Farrington, Sunia Tubuna from Niurua Creatives and Hilda Mondo from Kumari Imunu, and renowned figures such as Hupfeld Hoerder.

“Tickets are still available for those eager to witness firsthand the dynamic blend of traditional Fijian motifs and contemporary styles that define Fijian fashion,” the statement read. “This show is more than just a runway; it’s a celebration of culture and an exciting introduction of Fiji’s finest talents to the Australian market.” The event promised an exciting blend of fashion and cultural expression, with all aspects of production—from models to staff—being proudly Fijian, it stated.

The collaboration among designers, models and production teams underscores the potential for Fijian fashion to expand globally. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful sponsors: the Fiji High Commission in Canberra, the Fiji Consulate General in Sydney, Tourism Fiji, Fiji Airways, Pure Fiji and The Fiji Times. “We invite all our Sydney and Australian supporters to join us for an evening of elegance and cultural pride at the Paddington RSL.
