But what about defense? Yeah, you heard that right. Saints head coach Dennis Allen — who was the team's defensive coordinator during Hill's rookie season in 2017 — Tuesday that his staff seriously considered using the jack-of-all-trades at strong-side linebacker. The only problem? Then-head coach Sean Payton, who called the offensive plays, wasn't about to let Hill go.

"Early on, we kind of thought about making him a Sam linebacker," Allen told Adams. "I'm not kidding. We talked about that, we on defense, but the head coach at the time, he wasn't giving up anything.

but now we've got him doing so many things, there's only so many ball plays a guy can play." Adams asked if Allen would still use him the same way on defense. "I'd play him at Sam linebacker, and I'd rush him about 50% of the time," Allen said.
