Dengue cases in Ludhiana have crossed the 300-mark this year, with a concerning spike in the first six days of November, where 44 new cases were reported. The total dengue tally now stands at 301, prompting health authorities to sound the alarm. Dr.

Sheetal Narang, the district epidemiologist, noted that while last year, the cases began rising in August, this year, the surge started earlier, in October. In August 2023, Ludhiana had reported 109 dengue cases, but this year, that number significantly dropped to just nine. Similarly, in September, there was a sharp decline from 183 cases in 2023 to only 35 this year.

However, with the current uptick in cases, the health department is on high alert, working to control the spread of the disease..
