Prayagraj: The Sangam city reported a decline in dengue cases, with only three new infections diagnosed in the past 48 hours. Oct recorded the highest number of 194 dengue cases. District malaria officer (Prayagraj) AK Singh told TOI, "The city witnessed a decline in both dengue and viral fever cases at government and private hospitals, as well as medical clinics.

" He claimed, "As part of measures to combat vector-borne diseases, officials conducted a survey of approximately 1,38,900 homes , identifying mosquito breeding conditions and taking corrective measures." The DMO said, "Apart from unused articles, flower pots, rotten tires, and potholes, were found to be the second most common spots for mosquito breeding." He suggested that people use mosquito repellent to protect themselves from dengue and other vector-borne infections.

Health officials said that caseload of dengue started dropping due to onset of winter and subsequent lowest reproduction rate among mosquitoes.tnn.
