Skyteam member Delta Air Lines is set to return to Lexington's Blue Grass Airport this coming summer from New York La Guardia , with services set to resume on May 7. The airline previously connected the city pair; however, this has been paused since the COVID-19 pandemic. A direct link to the Big Apple Blue Grass Airport (LAX) is six miles west of Lexington's city center and is directly adjacent to the Keeneland Race Course.
According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics , the airport sees an average of 1.3 million passengers annually and already has Delta services to Atlanta, Detroit, and Washington National Airport. Tickets are set to go on sale this Saturday, and the airline will deploy a CRJ-900 aircraft on the route to New York, capable of carrying up to 76 passengers across three cabins: First, Delta Comfort +, and Main Cabin.
Daily flights will resume on May 7, with flight times perfect for those needing to travel to the Big Apple for business. Schedule as below: DL5050 departs from Lexington at 07:00 and arrives in New York La Guardia at 08:50. The block time is one hour and 50 minutes.
